Updates on life

The Coldplay top 10 will take a while. I'm new to Coldplay, and it's going to get a while to get used to it. A small hint is that most of it is from X & Y and Viva la Vida. Probably. Maybe all of it could be in Viva la Vida or X & Y. Anyways, has anyone figured what the nothing part means? :D. If you have, then good for you! You should be proud of thinking in common sense. "Psst, I'm Oscar's evil twin. I'm evil, so I'll tell you that that was a hint. *wink*".

NEW Song lyrics

EDIT: Hi, I've decided on a sudden change of song lyrics, thanks to a friend's recommendation. Here are the lyrics to Don't Panic, by Coldplay.

Bones, sinking like stones,
All that we fought for,
And homes, places we've grown,
All of us are done for.

And we live in a beautiful world,
Yeah we do, yeah we do,
We live in a beautiful world,

Bones, sinking like stones,
All that we fought for,
And homes, places we've grown,
All of us are done for.

And we live in a beautiful world,
Yeah we do, yeah we do,
We live in a beautiful world.

And we live in a beautiful world,
Yeah we do, yeah we do,
We live in a beautiful world.

Oh, all that I know,
There's nothing here to run from,
Cause, yeah, everybody here's got somebody to lean on.

I believe this is the 3rd Coldplay song in our class (EDIT: There's 4 people in our class that used a Coldplay song: Phoebe, Winston, Menan, and me. If I missed you, comment about it). Here's the music to it: Don't Panic - Coldplay
The music video is the strangest thing ever, and the total time for the song is actually 2:21. Doesn't matter. Enjoy!

Song lyrics that are supposed to be poetic

Hi! This is for the lyrics homework we have to do. I'm having trouble deciding which song to use, so I'll post both :P. Here is the lyrics to Map of the Problematique by Muse and What I've Done by Linkin Park.

Map of the Problematique- Muse

Fear and panic in the air
I want to be free
From desolation and despair
And I feel like everything I sow is being swept away
Well I refuse to let you go

I can't get it right
Get it right
Since I met you

Loneliness be over
When will this loneliness be over

Life will flash before my eyes
So scattered and lost
I want to touch the other side
And no one
Thinks they are to blame
Why can't we see
That when we bleed we bleed the same

I can't get it right
Get it right
Since I met you

Loneliness be over
When will this loneliness be over
Loneliness be over
When will this loneliness be over

It sounds kind of weird without the music, but it'll make sense with it: Map of the Problematique-Muse

The lyrics say "saw" instead of "sow" in the video, but I'm certain that it's sow. You can even hear that.

What I've Done- Linkin Park

In this farewell
There’s no blood
There’s no alibi
‘Cause I’ve drawn regret
From the truth
Of a thousand lies

So let mercy come
And wash away

What I've done
I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done

Put to rest
What you thought of me
While I clean this slate
With the hands of uncertainty

So let mercy come
And wash away

What I've done
I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done

For what I’ve done
I start again
And whatever pain may come
Today this ends
I’m forgiving what I’ve done

I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done

What I’ve done
Forgiving what I’ve done

I guess my choice is to go with What I've Done, but I still like the lyrics to Map of the Problematique. Also, here is the link to the music: What I've Done- Linkin Park

Don't mind the unusual video, but it's kind of saddening.

I guess that's all. Thank you for reading the lyrics that are supposed to be poetic. Also, I've posted a poll for you to decide which lyrics you like better.

Top 10 Muse Songs (Picked By Me)

HELLO EVERYONE!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Ah, it's finally 2010. Almost my birthday, too! Yep, January 4th. Anyways, I'm not here to talk about my birthday. As most of you know, my favourite band, tied with Linkin Park, is Muse. Almost none of you have ever tried it. I don't see why you're always complaining that it's no good. I've tried Mr. Beaver..I mean...Bieber (not really), and I didn't like him. So, I'm making a top 10 list of my favourite Muse songs. I'm really getting into this top 10 thing, eh? It's studio albums only. Adding b-sides and stuff would just make it 100 times harder. Do you know that Muse almost has 100 songs made in total? That's pretty hard, so I'm making it studio albums, with only 59. That's not a few, but it's the best I got. So, I started with 10 songs. Took me about 10-20 minutes to think about it. After, I changed it a little. Here was my original:
10. Overdue
9. Screenager
8. Darkshines
7. Fillip
6. Resistance
5. Apocalypse Please
4. The Small Print
3. Hysteria
2. Hyper Music
1. Uprising

I changed it a bit, and here's my final listing, with all reasons that they're on it. Here is my top 10 Muse songs! (I've also placed the album it comes from.)

10. Darkshines (Origin of Symmetry)

The guitar has a Spanish-esque sort of feel. It's really good, but probably the most emo song by Muse. How? Here's the chorus:

Dark shines,
Bringing me down,
Making my heart feel sore,
'Cause it's good.

See? Emo, right? Ayways, let's move on.

9. Screenager (Origin of Symmetry)

This song is only in here because of instrumentals. I mean, the lyrics were okay, but it was the instrumentals that caught my attention. Listen to it, not live, because I don't think they can do that live. You might get what I mean. I don't know. Moving on....

8. Fillip (Showbiz)

The word fillip means something about happiness, or whatever, but it's a good song. That's all I can say. It's a good song. Strange, really. Ok, NEXT!

7. Resistance (The Resistance (haha))

The chorus is great. The "it could be wrong, could be wrong" in between the chorus lines makes it really good. The song is about what it says in the title, resistance. Makes sense, right?

6. Map of the Problematique (Black Holes and Revelations)

When I first started this, I completely forgot about Map of the Problematique. I love both lyrics and instrumentals. Take a look at this:

And no one,
Thinks they are to blame.
Why can't we see,
When we bleed, we bleed the same?

Good, huh? I know :D. Moving on...

The top 5 hasn't changed, but of course, reasons, reasons, reasons. So, the top 5:

5. Apocalypse Please (Absolution)

This song is about the end of the world. When you have a great topic like that, how can't you make a good song? It has a great piano part, too.

4. The Small Print (Absolution)

I can't really explain the meaning of all this myself, so I found something that I guess makes sense.

While initially played before Absolution's release, it went by the name 'Action Faust.' The song can be understood as, clearly alluding to Goethe's Faust, being sung from the point of view of the Devil to someone selling their soul to him in exchange for, presumably, musical prowess and fame. It shows the transaction as ultimately manipulative on the part of the Devil, dooming the recipient to be a "slave to the grave" and robbing him of all memories of "the good days". The Devil's identity can be seen in the line "I'm a priest God never paid"; he is able to mediate supernatural power but does so outside of the service of God. The final title "The Small Print" yet again underlies the motif of a dishonest contract between a Devil and Faustian figure.

Weird....NEXT!

3. Hysteria (Absolution)

A popular song, and one of my favourites.

The song is about wanting something or someone that's out of reach so badly that this frustrates you till no end. It becomes an addiction.

Hmm...how nice.

2. Hyper Music (Origin of Symmetry)

I've explained this to you in my last post. NEXT!

1. Uprising (The Resistance)

Also explained in my last post. Plus, there are TEDDY BEARS in the music video. WOO! Who doesn't like teddy bears? Some people say that they look creepy, but they're still teddy bears.

That's it! Before we wrap up, I want to give a special award:

Longest song: Citizen Erased (Origin of Symmetry)

This is the longest song that Muse has ever written, reaching a total time of 7 minutes 21 seconds. That's pretty long!

I guess that's all! I'll see you back at school on the 4th (MY BIRTHDAY). Bye!
